Dementia and deficits of memory function are increasingly observed. Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia are commonly found. However, treatable causes of dementia such as stroke, normal pressure hydrocephalus, brain tumors, metabolic diseases and many others have to be detected and treated. Other diseases like a depression, possibly mimicking dementia have to be excluded.

In the private Neurological Practice of Prof. Dr. A. Hufnagel the most advanced diagnostic equipment is available to diagnose or exclude dementia and impaired memory function. It includes ultrasound devices, EEG, neuropsychological testing and evoked potentials.
