Headache syndromes such as migraine and tension-type headache are among the most common diseases. In the initial state symptomatic causes of headache such as tumors, brain infections and vascular and metabolic diseases must be excluded. The exact diagnosis of the underlying syndrome is essential for successful treatment of headache.
