During the past years many improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease have been achieved. The illness usually starts with slowing of movements, rigidity of muscles and tremor (rhythmic shaking/shivering of hands, feet and head). Improved clinical testing and DAT-Spect allow early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. New medication and deep brain electrical stimulation now is available for treatment.

In the private Neurological practice of Prof. Dr. A. Hufnagel the most advanced diagnostic equipment is available for the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease such as movement disorder detection programs, ultrasound, EEG, lab analysis and neuropsychological testing.
