Parkinson_s_disease

During the past years many improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease have been achieved. The illness usually starts with slowing of movements, rigidity of muscles and tremor (rhythmic shaking/shivering of hands, feet and head). Improved clinical testing and DAT-Spect allow early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. New medication and deep brain electrical stimulation now is available for treatment.

In the private Neurological practice of Prof. Dr. A. Hufnagel the most advanced diagnostic equipment is available for the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease such as movement disorder detection programs, ultrasound, EEG, lab analysis and neuropsychological testing. MRI-scans and DAT-Spect may be performed in close cooperation with experts of neuroradiology and nuclear medicine situated nearby.

A specific therapeutic program including medical treatment, physiotherapy and medical personal training can be applied. In addition, neural-acupuncture and muscle relaxation therapy is available.

Patients from outside Düsseldorf may participate in intense diagnostic and therapeutic programs on a daily outpatient basis in the practice and the associated medical training center.

For your stay in the centre of Düsseldorf, three 5 star and other hotels are located within 200 m walking distance from the practice. For further information or appointments please don´t hesitate to call: +49 211-863225011.
